Eve A Christmas Ghost Story A Psychic Surveys Prequel eBook Shani Struthers
I have now read all the physic surveys books and while this book was written after the first two, I feel as if it should be read first as it describe how Theo and Nessa came to be friends and kind of started the whole thing. The Haunting of Highdown Hall and Rise To Me adds Jessamin to group of psychic ladies who comprise The Physic Surveys group. It's a toss up as to how you read them. They really don't have to be read in any order because they are all great reads and you can easily gather what is going on. I am looking forward to reading the next installment in the Psychic Surveys series, or any novel from this author. Loved them all.Product details

Eve A Christmas Ghost Story A Psychic Surveys Prequel eBook Shani Struthers Reviews
This was a good read. The characters were fun to know. The story was sad but compelling and I had to keep reading. Loved this book and bought all the rest of the series before I even finished this one. Read this one first. The price for the other books is cheap and well worth it. I recommend these.
Well written and enthralling! Getting to know characters, apart from the primary protagonist in the original series, is truly a treat! This was a mysterious read, with plenty of comic relief, supernatural thrills and brilliant writing, that didn't give away any of the twist or turns along the way.
I'm so glad I discovered this series and had read the first book in the series before I read this one and it worked out fine - I enjoyed them both immensely. Both are pages turners and great mysteries, and like real life, not simple. Thank you Ms Struthers for the entertainment, I look forward to reading the next book in this series!
This is a prequel to the Psychic Surveys series. I absolutely love the series, so this was a must read for me! Similar to the second book this one had a creepy, scare factor to it too! I had a hard time reeling in my imagination at night! I was even wary to shower at night, as I kept thinking I'd turn around and see a face, or a huge spider!! There had to be spiders!
Spiders aside, I loved this book and definitely recommend it!
I look forward to the next in the series! Thank you for another great read!!
I didn’t want to put this book down! To be honest, this isn’t the genre that I normally read. However since I knew of the story’s background, I was anxiously awaiting the release of this book and I must say it didn’t disappoint me.
The town of Thorpe Morton has been haunted by a tragic event that took place at a Christmas Eve party for miners and their families that left 59 people dead, many of them children. The spirits of the dead refuse to let the people of the town forget what happened to them. Enter Theo and Ness who have been called in to help lift the darkness from the town and help the grounded find their way toward the light. Soon, the two find themselves being attacked by a dark force who knows their deepest fears. If they are to succeed and survive, it will take the help of the spirit of a little girl and eventually the entire town.
Shani Struthers does an excellent job crafting the characters of this story. She has given them both substance and depth. The imagery she uses is such that I felt as though I was there witnessing the events as they unfolded. Likewise there are many very poignant scenes within the story that are thought provoking. The construction of this story is nothing less than brilliant.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone not just those who enjoy reading about the paranormal and ghosts. It is both captivating and mesmerizing and is sure to hold any reader’s interest.
I really liked this book and the fact that it centered on Ness and Theo. It's been hinted at in the Psychic Series books that these two have been friends for many years. So, it was nice to get some background on how their friendship started. What I didn't like about the book, was that we never got to find out who yelled fire in the first place, or whether more were involved and why it was done in the first place. I actually feel cheated and it left a gaping hole in the story. That was an important detail of the story and should have been developed more. Other than that, I liked the book.
A mellifluous, soul-expanding, unforgettable story that adds meaningfully to a wonderful series. This is the kind of fiction I adore ... larger-than-life, deeply original stories that change readers in ways they may not initially fathom.
I love how the plot thoughtfully unfolds, including the unsettling, intriguing history at its heart. I also enjoyed the multiple tributary ghost stories and how they all tied together. The relationship between Theo and Ness is rich, complex, and heart-warming, and both characters are well developed. I bought this to read over Christmas, quickly discovering that the story, while centered in many ways around Christmas, is unquestionably strong enough to be read during any month of the year.
Well done, Shani Struthers.
Yours in literature,
JGC.
