The author, Chris Scott gave me an understanding of how I can make my cosmetics work for me. As a person who is intimidated by makeup yet fascinated with color, I would approach a cosmetic counter with apprehension and look more than shop. I never wanted to spend money on something I would take home and never wear because I did not know how to apply it or was not sure if it was the right color for me. Like going to a hair salon, I could never re-create the look a hairstylist gave me. After reading this book, I gained a sense of awareness on how to approach makeup and cosmetics. The most important thing I learned is the terminology of makeup,makeup brushes, and cosmetics. I also realized what my color intensities are, based on my hair, eye, skin color, as well as wardrobe. After reading this book I am more aware of types of makeup I like, and the colors that work for me.
