Reviewed by Reader of Romance (readerofromance1.blogspot.com)I've always been a big fan of Sophie Jordan and her historical romance novels, so I was excited when I saw this new release. The novel starts out with Aurelia as a fifteen year old girl, madly in love with her brother's best friend, Max. That is until she discovers him sleeping with a kitchen maid. All her hopes and dreams crumble and she ends up expressing her anger in a way that humiliates Max. The novel picks back up seven years later, and because of that incident, they are no longer friends but instead rivals that aren't able to be in the same room with each other without fighting. The fighting, though, soon turns into something more when they can't keep their hands off of each other.
Aurelia's and Max's banter is mostly humorous, but at times it can be a little over the top and become too unrealistic to believe in certain circumstances. I also had trouble with one scene in the novel when Aurelia is at a gaming hell and places bets against men. I found this a somewhat disturbing and unrealistic scenario for a "lady" to be in during that time period. Overall, though, I found both characters interesting, and while they weren't completely likable, I still enjoyed the novel.
While I may not re-read this novel anytime soon, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a historical romance novel featuring a love/hate relationship.

All the Ways to Ruin a Rogue The Debutante Files Sophie Jordan 9780062222527 Books Reviews
Just bought and read this today and used my entire day off to read it!!!!! As always Sophie has relatable characters with biting wit and heart wrenching flaws that need to be overcome and delivers a brilliant happily ever after at end.
Aurelia and Max each have their own issues his stemming from an incident in his childhood and hers a scene she witnessed him in during their teens which have led him to become jaded and her icy and bitter. Max is the best mate of her brother and cousin, Will and Declan (be sure to read their stories as well) they attended school together and Max was often over to Aurelia's family house on holidays and vacation. Something happens that puts them at odds, causing them to each think the other their enemy of sorts. Since Max is considered family he is usually invited to all the family functions often throwing the two together with a battle of barbs and wits ensuing. It becomes clear that there may be more behind their spats and after one such argument when one of them is pushed beyond their limits ending in brazen seduction of sorts. In the end it was great to see these two learn that love is not something to fear, but to be embraced.
This book just reaffirms why Sophie Jordan remains one of my favorite authors and fellow Texan. Keep them coming Sophie looking forward to MacKenzie's book!!!!!
I have read all of Sophie Jordan's books and have loved every single one of them! This book is no exception! Sophie has a fantastic way with writing that draws you into her stories from the first chapter to the last. The story begins with the heroine catching the hero Camden in a the arms of one of the servants. Aurelia is 15 and really hurt by this since she has been in love with the hero since she was 9. So what does any teenage girl do when their heart is broken? Run to their room and cry, or take a sketch pad and draw caricature of a certain part of his anatomy. But the thing was she forgot her sketch pad. Her sketch pad was found by some boys at her mothers garden party and when they saw the drawing they started calling Camden, Cockless Camden. That's when these twos animosity for each other started. That is one of the many scenes that is written in this book that will leave wanting to see what comes next for these two. When Aurelia and Camden are in a room together the sparks fly. The chemistry these two have with each is explosive. If you love a book that will make you laugh, that is witty, and is hot with romance this is definitely the book for you. Sophie Jordan is a definite One Click Buy!
Lady Aurelia fell in love with Max, Viscount Camden, when she was 9. The spring she turned 15, she hoped Max would notice the woman she had now become, but when inadvertently she sees him having sex with a house maid, her heart breaks. Unfortunately for Max, Aurelia is also a very talented artist and her retribution for Max ignoring her is drawing a nasty caricature of Max, which is seen all around London and plagues him for years. Max knows who the culprit is but never utters a word because Aurelia is his best friend Will’s sister, and he wants to protect their family. Throughout the years, Aurelia continues to humiliate Max, who is as dissolute as ever, and their tiff nearly reaches the proportions of an all-out war. Aurelia, approaching spinsterhood, still shuns suitors until she must pick someone. Max and Aurelia see each other too much for their own taste, were it not for Aurelia’s behaviour they could have remained civil to each other, as Max never knew what irked Aurelia.
ALL THE WAYS TO RUIN A ROGUE is the extremely complex relationship between the reckless, almost ruthless Aurelia, and the unrepentant rogue that is Max. Ms. Jordan goes far beyond the gloss of the ton, and pens an outstanding character study. Character development is exceptional as we follow Max and Aurelia’s growth, trying to fill the void in their lives. Neither Max nor Aurelia are always pleasant; both are headstrong and independent, Max doesn’t care much whom he hurts while having his fun and Aurelia is bent on revenge, but when two unrelated events force them to take a good look at themselves, and how damaging their behaviour is, the story becomes positively riveting. ALL THE WAYS TO RUIN A ROGUE is a tremendously captivating journey; I was completely involved in the story, which is intense, dramatic, and richly detailed. Ms. Jordan’s prose is more sumptuous than ever, and I believe Sophie Jordan has written her best historical novel yet. ALL THE WAYS TO RUIN A ROGUE is an extraordinary book and should not be missed!
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
